Eliahna
Renowned for her nuanced lyricism and dreamy tones, Eliahna Heimann is an up-and-coming new artist based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her musical style is driven by influences in R&B, pop, ballads, and contemporary jazz and funk styles—an eclectic mix that is clearly evident in her own sound. Eliahna’s voice carries an invitingly warm quality, one that feels both intimate and effortlessly expressive, laden with effervescent riffs and adorned in stylistic ornamentation. These musical choices reveal a rare genuinity and thoughtfulness that speak to her artistry on a deeper level. At only 21-years-old, Eliahna already brings to the table a decade of musical experience, a richness of training and performance exposure that continues to shape her into the artist she is becoming.
Her musical upbringing is rooted in years of school choirs, private voice lessons—including classical training and jazz pedagogy—along with nine years of musical theatre performances and work in house bands. Through this diverse set of experiences, she has garnered respect and recognition across a wide range of genres, something that has allowed her to develop a flexible yet distinct vocal identity. This breadth of training also informs the emotional specificity in her performance style, and she is able to shape her voice to the needs of a song while still maintaining the unique color that makes her sound her own.
Throughout her college career, Eliahna has been a vocalist in the CONTEMPO Ensemble and CONTEMPO Touring Ensemble, two ensembles that have challenged her to grow both technically and creatively. Within these groups, she has performed a strikingly diverse repertoire spanning artists such as Ariana Grande, Madison Beer, Coco Jones, Tori Kelly, Lake Street Dive, Jovan Perez, SZA, and Paramore, among many others. Her ability to shift fluidly between genres, whilst honoring the nuances of each, has allowed her to explore her own artistic versatility in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
Recently, Eliahna has had the distinct honor of learning from devoted voice rehabilitative specialists while navigating and overcoming struggles with vocal cord dysfunction. Her work with world-renowned SLP expert Marci Rosenberg, along with private coaching from the acclaimed Melody Racine, has been transformational. These experiences have not only strengthened her technique but also deepened her relationship with her instrument. Understanding her voice through both a scientific and artistic lens has expanded her musicality and granted her a renewed sense of control and confidence.
Alongside her ongoing performances, Eliahna is currently working toward the release of her first album, [title redacted], a project in which she delves earnestly into her complex experiences of love, loss, and the inevitable growing pains of becoming. Taking a more narrative approach, she navigates this concept album with a thoughtful balance of exploration and reflection, allowing each track to unfold as part of a larger emotional and thematic journey.
Soon to be a Shenandoah University graduate, Eliahna Heimann is an inaugural member of the B.A. in Contemporary Musicianship & Entrepreneur Development (CMED) program, with minors in Entrepreneurship and in Professional & Popular Writing. Beyond her academic endeavors, she serves as President of the Shenandoah Conservatory Student Council (SCSC), where she works to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration and enhance the artistic community across the Conservatory. With every step in her academic, personal, and artistic life, Eliahna continues to nurture the evolution of her artistry into her own voice.
